College Campus Program                January 4-7, 2015
Working Web of Interconnectivity of All
Dropping Color as Meditation

“I have learned so much about myself and the world around me and how we are all interconnected….”

“The experience was amazing from being welcomed into Earth by God and practicing contemplation…to recognizing the real vs. the constructed self…this program allowed me to surrender myself to God and understand my connection to the universe and the love within myself…”

These words were written by sophomores in college after participating in the ICCD program: Becoming the Person of Your Dreams. It is designed to invite young adults to experience contemplative practices with the invitation to become more aware of their real self, their true self, where God dwells. Increasing this deepening awareness fosters an understanding of our interconnectedness within the web of life and our compassionate response to the injustices of our world.

This multi-day process integrates heart, mind and body through activities that offer a variety of ways to become aware of and have access to God’s abiding presence. This capacity to become aware of God’s presence within is especially important in serving as a context for one’s ongoing growth in the face of values and demands that generate anxiety about one’s future and the future of the planet.

Margaret Galiardi, OP, and Nancy Sylvester, IHM, designed and guided the process. This was a pilot program for ICCD made possible by the generosity of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, KY and the Sister, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Monroe, MI. The positive response indicates the hunger and the need for such a program. In the months to come ICCD will be evaluating the potential to continue this program.
